Google ads get Visual

Now here´s something we had been waiting for a long time now. For a long time now Google has cluttered up its search interface with text ads. The Google Product Listing Ads have been a huge source of revenue for the search engine giant and therefore the new feature introduced in the search results, for us, took longer than expected.

So what can we expect from these revamped Google Product Listing Ads? Expecting these Google Ads to get better reception from the users is pretty much expected and the initial results have been pretty encouraging. The new feature ha been introduced in the United States so far and the world, as always, would gradually follow.

Speaking on the same, a spokesperson from Google said,” We have “found that people are twice as likely to click on a Product Listing Ad as they are to click on a standard text ad in the same location.” Therefore the excitement surrounding the new step is pretty much justified.

Google ads before this step had around 800 advertisers, but now the focus has been expanded to include Google’s entire advertiser base. So better start expecting a little more perked up and graphic driven ads on Google and the advertisers too can start expecting better results for their Google Ads.

Another reason to be on Google and get the most out of your  search engine marketing tools.

The New Preview Feature in Google Search Results

That’s right! Google is publicly testing the new Preview feature for their search results and it works like a dream, atleast for the user. For the Pay per click professionals out there, mmm.. not so much. Well we won’t mince our words here and say that from a user perspective, the preview feature is amazing. It gives you a big and clear view of the website/landing page if you hover over the magnifying glass located alo0ngside the search result. The better part of this feature is that Google even highlights the part of the page which contains the text you have searched for.

The feature, as thought previously, would’ve required an extension to be installed, before making it functional to a user. But after re-checking, the feature is working smoothly for users who don’t have the said extension installed. Great news for search engine optimization then? Err.. not so much we guess!

What may get the PPC experts wound up is the fact that the preview results would literally eclipse the paid search results displayed on the right-hand-side of the screen. Also there might be a situation when websites might start experiencing a drop in the click-through rates. SO it’s about time that the websites got their house in order. The design of your website might attract or repel your future customer, even before he/she visits your website.

Google Instant – So this is How it Works

Google Instant has just hit the Search World and everyone is lapping it up like hungry wolves. The new feature, although only a few hours old is already becoming a matter of heady debates in the boardrooms. Find-as-you-type is what we’ll call it and this is exactly what Google Instant does for you. Real-time search results as you type the characters in the Google Search Bar.

One thing to note is that the Google Instant is starting to roll-out to users on Google domains in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia who use the following browsers: Chrome v5/6, Firefox v3, Safari v5 for Mac and Internet Explorer v8. Please note, users on domains other than Google.com can only access Google Instant if they are signed in to a Google Account.

The search predictions which preceded Google Instant gave you suggestions as you typed in the characters for search. But the great thing Google Instant is that it displays and rapidly changes the search results as you type in. Speculative tongues have already started wagging as to what the repercussions of the introduction of such a feature in Google Search.

Lets have fun with what Google Instant may mean to SEOs in particular:-

  • Keywords? – Will it lead to a change in the way keywords are used and researched for websites?
  • More Clicks? – Will the new feature lead to an increased number of clicks on the top search ranking websites in both organic search as well as inorganic search results (PPC)?
  • Doom for 2nd Pagers? – Will Google Instant spell doom for those websites which rank below the top ten search results?

What do you have to say about Google Instant??
